Dear Karson,
It's almost time! I'll admit I'm a bit speechless. I would love to have the perfect words to say to express all of the emotions coursing through me right now, but I'm not sure adequate ones exist.
Aside from feeling excitement, anticipation, nervousness, impatience, and many many other things, I somehow also feel at peace.
I've never looked forward to anything more than I'm looking forward to becoming your mama. So aside from the feelings above, I also feel ready. Not ready for seemingly endless sleepless nights. Not ready for the fear that we'll somehow be really bad at this. Not ready for the intimidating fact that very soon your every need will be dependant upon us. But ready nonetheless. Ready to meet you. To know you. And to start our journey together.
My prayers for you have been plentiful. Some are special, some are silly. I started praying for you before I even met your daddy. I knew someday you would be here, and I prayed that God would have a special plan for you. I prayed for your timing once we were ready to have kids. And once you were "real", I've prayed for your health, your security, your protection, and a safe, uneventful entry in to this world. I also pray that you'll be a happy healthy little boy who grows up to be a successful, loving, kind hearted, Christian adult. I've prayed for talents, for intelligence, for a sense of humor and good looks, (I told you some were silly!) I even pray for your future wife. If she's already out there somewhere, or if she's just a plan in her parents mind, I pray that she grows up in a loving Christian home and that you each live your lives in a way that will some day make each other proud. Sounds a bit excessive, I know. But I can't help but want the best for you.
Now as I'm sitting in the hospital, listening to your heartbeat, we've come to the end of the pregnancy. I will dearly miss feeling your sweet kicks, punches and rolls. But those special moments will be replaced with seeing your smile, memorizing your face, hearing your laugh, and listening in as you find your voice. There will be first falls, first steps, first bruises. First friends, first loves, and first heartbreaks. First cars, first jobs, first homes. A whole lifetime of firsts lies ahead of you.
But for now, let's focus on a few special ones that are in both of our near futures. I look forward to seeing and holding you for the first time.
Not much longer now. See you very very soon!
Love - Mama

Doctor Update
Welp...no baby yet!
At today's checkup I was exactly where I was last week. 3 cm and 60% effaced. Since there's been no notable progress this week, and since I haven't hit my due date yet, there seemed to be no reason to rush things by scheduling for tomorrow or Friday.
So now, the plan is to go back to the Doctor on Monday morning (my actual due date). We'll check me again, and revisit the topic of inducing for later next week.
OR...Karson will decide to come on his own between now and then! Maybe that unknown factor is a little scarier for Justin and I, and makes it more difficult to get Nana, Papaw, Mima and Mipa in town...but that unknown excitement is half of the fun right?
In the meantime, I'll continue to relax at home, we will have a relaxing weekend together, and we'll get another update on Monday!
We've decided Karson just doesn't want to come out in this cold weather. It's supposed to be down to zero tonight! Can you blame him?

39 week quiz (and belly pic)
How far along? 39 weeks
How big is baby? Probably close to 8 pounds.
Weight gain? Roughly 32. Three of those pounds came last week, so I'm just avoiding the scale at home this week and making sure I get plenty of fluids (which oddly enough helps fight fluid retention).
Stretch Marks? Nothing new here.
Maternity clothes? I kept a few items I'm wearing the most, and sent the others home to my parents basement. Guess that means I don't plan on staying in them too long after Karson arrives!
Sleep? Boo. My 4 oclock waking hour continues, and the time it takes me to get back to sleep is stretching. Also, we tried flipping our mattress to a firmer side to help me have some leverage when I'm trying to roll or get out. I'm not sold on the change yet.
Cravings? Yesterday while at the mall with Justin, we rounded the corner and pretty much ran to Auntie Anne's once we smelled those delicious pretzels! YUM! I've got to learn how to make those at home!
Nursery update? :-D I enjoy sitting in the glider for now. Can't wait until Karson is here to hang out in there too!
Movement? Hiccups are becoming more regular. And the doctor told me the "foot" I keep feeling and touching is more likely an elbow. Whoops.
High point? Being snowed/iced in without power. Thought this would be the low point? Well, Justin stayed home until we were sure I could get out of the house on my own should an amergency arise. So while he was home with me we made hot chocolate on the camping stove, kept warm with a propane heater, and played cards. It was super fun!
Low point? Total havoc being wreaked on my body!
What am I looking forward to? Karson's arrival!
What do I miss? Warm weather!
Doctor Update: Coming on Wednesday!

38 (ish) week update
Well...I had mixed news today at the doc. My blood pressure was up, but not alarmingly so. It was still within a tolerable range. I had also gained three pounds in one week. Holy Smokes! He said it was likely water retention, and it may go away as easily as it came. But I find it frustrating to have my biggest weight gain week to date occur during the period where many level off or even lose. Grumble.
I also tested positive as a carrier for GBS. That's not technically horrible news either. It's common among 30% of pregos or more according to my doc and online, and it is dealt with with a simple antibiotic during labor. But I didn't like hearing that news in addition to the BP and weight gain. It was a rough first few minutes of the appt! But at least we know, and can deal with it appropriately.
The better news...
I will begin working from home starting on Monday.
Today I measured 3 cm and 60% effaced.
My next appt is on Wednesday at 11:30. At that appt, he will check me again, then we'll discuss the potential for scheduling induction.
So the good news there is after tomorrow, I won't have to worry about going in to labor at work, or while driving. I am still progressing a little on my own, (despite not having any big Braxton Hicks this week), AND...if I haven't gone in to labor on my own by next Wed, we will likely schedule an induction for the following few days! In addition to that shortening the time we have to wait around, it will also make it easier for Justin to plan at work, and for family to make it in if they so choose.
I'm going to read up more on induction, and its impact on labor, the baby, breastfeeding, etc before Wednesday. But since I'll be at least 39.5 weeks along, and likely 4 cm, I would be further along (by both days and dilation) than many who show up at the hospital in labor. And if I've thinned even more than 60% by then, it "should" be an easy induce.
Just for giggles, the doctor estimated his weight, and came up with 7.5 pounds.
So it's safe to say...Karson will be here in two weeks or less?

37 Week Update (and a belly pic)
How far along? 37 weeks and 2 days
How big is baby? Maybe close to seven pounds?
Weight gain? Holding at 29! .:does small premature victory dance:.
Stretch Marks? Just those same couple of small ones I've noticed the last couple of weeks.
Maternity clothes? Outgrowing a few things. My belly is starting to stick way OUT. See the pic below.
Sleep? Sigh. Dear sweet sleep, I remember you old friend. I did sleep better Monday night, and actually had a little energy on Tuesday. A pleasant surprise.
Cravings? Still fruit! In addition to jello salad, a morning clementine (or 2), I've recently added Cherry pie and grapes to the routine. And of course I had an old favorite one night this week...ROOT BEER FLOAT!
Nursery update? Nursery is DONE. Planes are HUNG! I am HAPPY! Check out those links if you missed the posts.
Movement? Yes. But it's different. There will be longer periods of "quiet", and then his normal crazy active phases. I spoke with the doctor about this today and he said that is normal. For one, he is getting larger, and moving around may become more difficult. For another...he has a more regular and peaceful sleeping pattern starting to form. But the long quiet periods are not cool, Karson, not cool. He's kicking like crazy as I type this though. AND...we felt him have the hiccups for the first time Saturday night. Too cute.
High point? Finally getting those airplanes hung! A successful 37 week appt!
Low point? Having a round of Braxton Hicks on Thursday afternoon and in the middle of the night Thursday...while home alone!
What am I looking forward to? Um...having a baby soon? .:Yikes!:.
What do I miss? Having energy. Not knowing what indigestion felt like.
Doctor Update: My BP and weight gain, and Karson's heart rate were all good. Today I had my first cervix check. Visit this link if you don't know what these mean.
Dilation: 1-2 cm
Effacement: 50%
Station: -2
He said that was great progress for week 37. In short, my body IS preparing which is a good sign. He also pointed out that my cervix would be very "induceable", should Karson become stubborn and hold out past his due date.
What does all that mean? Who knows! Karson could come tomorrow, or he could hold out until past the due date. These measurements can change in a hurry, or become stagnant. In fact, I might have the exact same measurements next week. But the good news is things are kicking in to motion on their own, and the stage is setting for Karson's arrival!
Here's me at 37 weeks on Monday evening. I'll try to remember to wear that shirt for the photo from now on. That might make it easier to compare and figure out when he's noticeably lower! Karson looks like he's trying to escape via my belly button!

36 week update
How far along? 36 weeks and 3 days.
How big is baby? Over six pounds! (We think...who knows!)
Weight gain? 29 as of the last Doc weigh in. If Karson arrives immediately, I can say I gained less than 30! If he takes his time...I may gain 40! It seems I'm starting to swell a tad. I've even decided not to put my rings back on until we're done. Hopefully the swelling won't get worse.
Stretch Marks? I think I have a couple of small ones now. Boo!
Maternity clothes? Nothing new to report here. Except that I look frumpy in everything. And my plan to make both normal and maternity clothes fit in the closet has officially turned it in to a disaster zone.
Sleep? Getting much worse in a hurry. There were a couple of crampy nights last week where I got less than four hours of sleep, and most of that came on a couch. I now use five pillows. (What?) I'm up at least once or twice for potty breaks, and I CONTINUE to wake up during the 4:00 am hour every night! (What is that about?)
Cravings? Fruit! I even made a jello fruit salad, which I don't normally have much interest in. I bought Clementines and have been eating those at breakfast too. And I had a hankering for OJ, which of course gave me heartburn. Also...Chinese! Mac N Cheese! Food in general...
Nursery update? Finishing touches are going on the airplanes now! Everything else is done, and in fact I have the photos of the nursery uploaded and am just waiting on the right time to post. I want ONE shot of the airplanes once we get them hung. So I should have pics posted for you by this weekend.
Movement? Still a busy guy, but there are fewer kicks and more rolls and pushes. I can identify a hand on my lower left side pretty often. Or is it a foot by his face?
High point? Getting the nursery finished, and walls decorated.
Low point? A crampy, sleepless 48 hours last week.
What am I looking forward to? Visitors this weekend! Finally getting these airplanes hung!
What do I miss? Seeing my own feet. Being able to put on shoes and socks without grunting. Sleeping through the night. Wearing contacts. Pants with buttons. High Heels. Having the option to tan. Eating spicy foods. Mt Dew. Ruh Roh...sounds like I'm wearing down!!!
No belly pic this week since my photographer is unavailable. Also, I never seem to think of it until I'm in full lounge mode. But since I'll be doing these updates weekly now, you won't have to wait very long for a 37 week pic!

Place Your Bets!!
Well, technically there are no bets, so that was a poor title. BUT...I'd love to hear your guesses as to when Karson will arrive and how big he will be.
I weighed 8 and a half pounds, and arrived roughly four days past my due date at 3:30 in the afternoon.
My office has chimed in, and their collective guesses average out to:
February 16th
9:00 AM
8 lb 6 oz
21.36 inches long
My individual guess is as follows:
February 18th
4:00 AM
8 lb 12 oz
21.5 inches long
As for the date, I like that it's a Friday, and that he's definitely full term...and that helps us out with our family care/vacation plan for pre-day care. And I chose the 4:00 AM hour because I always wake up during that hour. And not necessarily for a potty break. I've been doing that for several weeks now actually. So I'm convinced that something will happen around 4:00 am. Whether it's labor starting, water breaking, baby arriving...something!
Let us know what your guesses are! For those who can't figure out how to post a comment, (which seems to be nearly everyone...) feel free to email me and I'll post it on here for you.

I love surprises!
And I love baby showers! Put them together and you've got a surprise baby shower! And a very happy me!
The gals at work surprised me with a pizza party/baby shower today during lunch. How sweet is that! A funny note - I thought we were just randomly having pizza so I brought a plate of brownies to my own shower! (Have I mentioned how dumb pregnancy has made me lately?)
They made an awesome shower cake with lots of goodies including onesies, cloth diapers, burp cloths, socks, bath items, feeding supplies, toys and books. Karson also received individual gifts including detergent (how useful!), a gorgeous hand made blanket, an awesome hand made quilted blanket, a hand made stained glass night light (seriously, I hang out with some crafty and talented people), and some cutie outfits! What a lucky fella!
They decorated with transportation items that will go perfectly with his nursery. I can't wait to get the new items in to his room.
I also got some wise advice, including:
Forget what people say, hold him if you want to!
Boys pee often and unexpectedly, always keep him covered during diaper changes.
It's ok to let them cry.
Let him sleep in his own bed.
Read to him often.
Tell him you love him every day.
Label photos and write down things you think you'll remember.
Enjoy every moment..it flies by!
Here are the pics from the day! For those of you who haven't seen me in a couple of weeks, yes I have two chins, yes I walk around looking that tired, and no, I don't know why I make these facial expressions when I know there is a camera in the room.
Thanks to all of my coworkers for a special day! We continue to be amazed by the generosity and kindness of others. Karson is a lucky lucky fella, and his mama and daddy feel pretty lucky too.

35/35
**If you haven't already done so, go here to view and then vote on your favorite maternity pictures.**
Today I am 35 weeks along and have only 35 days remaining until the due date! WHAAA???
Pretty cool milestone if I do say so myself. I'll hold off on a new quiz and pic until my next DR appt. But here are some factoids about 35 weeks along Karson and his 35 week pregnant mama:
If you recall, I have a goal of having everything "done" by January 16th, so I can relax and stay off my feet from that point forward. Here's the checklist off the top of my head and how we're coming along:
DONE!
Assemble high chair
Assemble swing
Assemble and "stock" pack n play
Organize Karson's Christmas items and latest Baby gifts
Send out any remaining thank you notes
Hang comforter, Pop's coat rack, propeller, decals, and whatever else fits on the walls
Pack Karson's hospital bag
Wash one final load of Karson's stuff (including towels, washclothes, a few 0-3 outfits, etc)
Find a pediatrician
Send hospital directions to Nana and Mima
Complete Childbirth classes
Almost done:
Pack my hospital bag
Assemble and paint model airplanes
Get maternity pictures in frames
Make some kitchen cabinet space
Still to do:
Learn to knit (who was I kidding...)
Install car seat/mirror/shades etc
Take a breastfeeding class (next week)
Preregister
Clean house and prepare for Karson's grandparents to arrive on short notice, and perhaps amidst chaos
Relax and kick up my feet....(soon...soon)
So...I think we're in a good place. Most of the "still to do" items are being reserved for the last few weeks for a reason. And the most time consuming item on the "almost done" list (the airplanes) isn't actually crucial.
So does that mean that when we get all these things done we'll be READY?
NO!
:-) I'm not sure we'll ever be completely ready for the change that is about to hit our lives. But we recognize that it will be a dramatic change, and we welcome it anyway. Besides, ready or not, here he'll come!

Pretty cool milestone if I do say so myself. I'll hold off on a new quiz and pic until my next DR appt. But here are some factoids about 35 weeks along Karson and his 35 week pregnant mama:
- His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks just putting on weight. (Hey, me too!)
- Speaking of weight, Karson is likely 6+ pounds!
- It's not uncommon for 35 week pregos to have contractions. Although I haven't been having any.

Find a pediatrician
Send hospital directions to Nana and Mima
Complete Childbirth classes
Almost done:
Pack my hospital bag
Assemble and paint model airplanes
Get maternity pictures in frames
Make some kitchen cabinet space
Still to do:

Maternity Pics, and a chance to VOTE!
The long awaited maternity pics have arrived in full! I've selected a few of my favorites from each "pose" below. Now YOU get to determine which ones remain on the blog, and potentially make it in to a multi pic frame in Karson's room. Vote for your favorites via the poll on the right. You can vote more than once, (on different visits) or for more than one photo (in one visit)! They are each labeled with a caption below them. Yes, you'll see my belly. No, I didn't plan on sharing those, but a couple of these touched me so much that I teared up. Blame it on the hormones. I hope you enjoy them too!

Doctor Update
We had a successful doctor appointment today! He was pleased with my weight gain and lack of swelling. My aches and pains all seem to be related to round ligament pain, and are just a normal sign of a growing uterus (and therefore baby!) Karson's heart rate, activity, and assumed size are all great!
Speaking of his size...the doctor made a wild guess and said he may be near 6 pounds. Obviously that's just a guess, but it seems safe to say that he's good sized! Based on the average weight gain on baby center, that puts us on track for 8.5 to 9 pounds. Which also happens to be in line with what I weighed.
We talked about the upcoming appointments, and here's the general rundown:
34 - Final blood work today
36 - Strep B test
37 - Start "invasive" appointments and continue on a weekly basis until Karson's arrival
38 - Same 'ol, plus a potential sonogram if his position or size merit one.
39 - Same 'ol
40 - Same 'ol
41 - Reach a whole new level of crankiness if Karson is still hiding.... ;-)
So I have one more two week break, then the activity really picks up from there!

34 week quiz and a belly pic
How far along? 34 weeks and 3 days!
How big is baby? Possibly as large as six pounds??? More on that in a different post.
Weight gain? I'm at 27 total now. BUT...I managed to only gain two pounds during the two and a half week stretch that included our Christmas celebrations and traveling food. So...I call that a win!
Stretch Marks? Still no...
Maternity clothes? I bought a little sweater/cardi/thing from Charlotte Russe. It is not maternity, but I've convinced myself it improves every outfit and may be seen wearing it every day for the rest of my life.
Sleep? It comes and goes. Mostly goes.
Cravings? No. But some favorite treats over break include: movie theater popcorn, dad's biscuits and gravy, red velvet dessert roll, root beer floats with the Rinkers...(seriously, 2 pounds is impressive the more I look back...)
Nursery update? Bookshelf arrived and is assembled and decorated! We need to hang wall stuff, then we're done! We've also assembled and "stocked" the pack n play, as well as the swing. Justin is putting the high chair together as I type! Pics coming soon!
Movement? Yep!
High point? Christmas with the families, and getting to meet our new niece!
Low point? Too much time in a car.
What am I looking forward to? A long series of weekends at home!
What do I miss? Weighing less than Justin... :-(

Home Stretch
My daily baby update email gave me a warm fuzzy this morning...
"This day marks the end of eight months of pregnancy. You’re heading for the home stretch."
"HOME STRETCH" = Yay!
Speaking of home stretch...while we were eager to visit with family over the Christmas holiday, and to meet our beautiful healthy new baby niece...we are now very glad to be home for a while. 34 week pregnant me doesn't want to go ANYWHERE for a WHILE now. So we are also in a home stretch in that we have no plans for a trip anywhere anytime soon.
"Stay at Home Stretch" = Double yay!
BUT, before we slide in to home there's plenty to be done. We got off to a good start last night by doing 4 of our 6 loads of laundry, undecorating from Christmas, and putting away the suitcases and Christmas presents and goodies.
Our January to do list is long, but I think it will primarily be a fun one! Sure, adding insulation and pressure washing when we have a warm day may not be on Justin's list of top 10 fun things to do. And there are some other unfun items for both of us as well. But assembling the larger baby stuff (pack n play, swing, etc), installing the car seat, packing hospital bags, decorating Karson's walls, and putting final touches on our baby prep sure sound exciting to me!

32 Weeks quiz! (And Belly Pic)
How far along? 32 weeks!
How big is baby? The doctor did some squeezing and guessing and came up with 4-4.5 pounds.
Weight gain? Ruh Roh. I'm at 25 pounds gained now. Not horrible, but I've gained more the last four weeks than I have gained in any prior 4 week period. Not a good trend to set as we head in to Christmas! I always gain weight during Christmas anyway! Oh well, tis the season?
Stretch Marks? Still no...
Maternity clothes? I have a new maternity coat thanks to an early Christmas present from Jared and Crystal! Karson is especially grateful as my other coats were no longer buttoning, leaving my belly (and therefore his home) a little exposed.
Sleep? It's overrated...right? Sigh.
Cravings? Maybe popcorn. But that's always been a favorite. And Root Beer Floats are now a nice occasional treat in this house!
Nursery update? Thanks to a gift card from cousin Sharon we finally bought a book case from Target! Sounds like a strange update but until we decided on a book case, and therefore the arrangement in the corner, and therefore the arrangement of the "stuff" for the walls...we were on hold. So when it arrives, we're ready to do final arrangements and decorate the walls and be done! But might not get to it until January...
Movement? Oh yeah!
High point? Anniversary celebration with Hubs.
Low point? Can't think of one. That's a good thing though...right?
What am I looking forward to? Christmas!
What do I miss? Being able to see to zipper my coat?

Showers! (Of snow, baby gifts...and blessings)
*I'm super late in posting this. But in the meantime I've gotten thank you cards out, wrapped all Christmas gifts while I can still sit in the floor, and celebrated an anniversary...so I promise it's been with good reason!*
A couple of weeks ago Justin and I had a baby shower in Kentucky. My sister in law, friend, and mom each played a big role. Despite some snowy weather, we had a great turnout, with over 40 friends and family in attendance.
Auburn found some adorable decorations and ideas. They really went all out with the aviation theme, including white balloon "clouds", and signs noting the "departure" and "baggage claim" areas.
Super cute favors! (Including personalized M&M's!)
Cake and mints:

Checking in with Jessie during game time:
Gift time, (and a VERY special helper!)
No, we didn't bring that chair in just for us...I'm not that high maintenance. Yet.
Excited to get some UK gear!
But to help satisfy your curiosity...here are a few pics of the more unique items:
Special thanks to Auburn for coordinating, Melissa for doing games, and to mom, dad, and Kevin (and Gavin!) for all of their help as well. It was a special day. We appreciate all of the friends and family who helped us get one giant step closer to getting ready for Karson!

Melissa put together some super cute games. Including a "make the baby face" game that got a little competitive between Jessie and Jean. :-) She had another one I've never seen before involving a frozen baby in an ice cube. Hard to explain, but my cousin Melanie's "water broke" first. ha!

We got so many special items! Including a much needed swing, diaper genie, and bathtub. We also got a great mix of clothes (including different sizes), toys, and essentials like bath items, wipes, and the ever essential diapers!!

Day Care - Check! (sort of)
I toured the local day care facility today that has been my top choice. I visited back in September, but this time I got an in depth tour of both the infant facility, and the larger preschool facility. I LOVE it!
They have a dedicated infant sight, assuming their infant headcount merits using it, that will be about half a mile from my office!! Today I met some adorable kiddos, as well as the care givers. It seemed like a loving, fun, interactive environment where Karson can learn and grow while mama and daddy have to work.
The larger facility was also very nice, (and still only minutes away). They keep 12 months to Pre K, and even K there. Both facilities have an age appropriate curriculum and send home reports on a daily basis. Everything just felt nice and homey!
The bad news...even though I started conversations in September, and even though I put down our deposit in December, and even though Karson won't need care there for at least four more months...she's unsure of the availability in the April/May time frame. Because of required ratios, and of course because I'm not even sure yet when we'll need to start him there, there's a gray area in the April/May months where I'm not sure if we can get him in. Summer will be no problem, as many of the seasonal kids will be gone, and there will be ample vacancy. But availability prior to that end of school cutoff is somewhat more unreliable...so I need to consider some emergency options.
So...we've found the spot! But I need to do some contingency planning on late spring, and pray that the timing works out for all involved!!

Penmanship = Fail! : Overall effort = Pass!
Happy Monday! I had a productive weekend, including getting all of the remaining thank you cards in the mail! While this may not sound like a monumental accomplishment...I write like a seven year old. I'm s..l...o....w. I grip the pen as if it might fly away from me at any moment. And I intermingle cursive and print as if I just can't commit...even for one word. Let's face it, I'm a keyboard kind of gal. If I were being graded on penmanship...I suspect I would NOT get a "satisfactory" grade.
So...it takes me some time. If you receive yours and find it to be less than legible...you should assume it was the last one I wrote and that everyone else's is perfectly penned! (wink). Nonetheless, it was fun thinking back on who has thought of Karson, Justin and I and provided such thoughtful gifts to help us start this new life! We have been so fortunate! I've been overwhelmed by the gifts, but also by the words of encouragement and commitments of prayer. We appreciate each of you.
Because I'm slow at that process, there are a few things I wasn't allowing myself to do until I knocked that "to do" out. Including starting on Christmas cards, blogging about the KY shower, and wrapping any more gifts. So...Christmas cards are now in the works, I hope to post a blog entry about our Kentucky shower soon, and I have a date under the tree this evening!
In the meantime thanks for your patience! (What? Your life hasn't been on hold awaiting further communication from me? Interesting...and disappointing...)
If you haven't visited in a while, I hope you like the new blog layout! I think Karson's Korner in particular will be fun to update with milestone pics and things that I should be writing in a baby book but get behind on. (Should we just go ahead and assume his first word will be "mama"? I think so.)
Also, the photo timeline on the right will not always just be of Justin and me. As lovely as our mugs are, my intention is to make that a monthly progression of Karson! But until then, you get to see more of us. .:The crowd goes wild!:.
Because you've listened so intently to my rambles, I'll include another teaser from the maternity pic set. I'll eventually do a blog showing all of my favorites, but they are still being sent to me, and I want Christmas cards to be delivered first...so for now...here you go!

A little teaser...
A few weeks ago we were in Ohio with Jared and Crystal and had some maternity pics taken. C'mon...two twins...each with prego wives...if that's not a photo opp I don't know what is!
The pictures have started rolling in! I'm not going to show you much. You'll just have to wait and see where else they begin to pop up. ;-)
But for now, here's one that was special to me that I'll show you as a teaser.

Hospitals?
I thought we had this decision taken care of, but recent discussions made me question our original choice.
So - after further review, Justin and I have switched our hospital preference.
We will be going to the smaller one with less maternity traffic, that is less than a mile from our doctor's office. They are known for having a more attentive nursing staff, and overall better service. Their labor and delivery rooms are nicer and larger. The anesthesiologist who will administer my epidural will likely be one of two guys who also attend our church.
Now, there's a CHANCE that we'll end up with a roommate in post partum. They have some single and some double rooms. But I'm told they avoid roommates whenever possible, and during our tour they had several open spots and no doubled up rooms.
AND - their NICU isn't as high of a level as the other hospital. Even so, both hospitals use Indianapolis as their go to if the baby is in need of serious attention. My prayer of course is that we don't need a NICU regardless.
But something about hospital #2 felt right. So I think we've made our decision. And we'll begin child birth classes soon. .:gulp:. Here we go!
